PROPS
Mission Impossible:
The scene starts with 'firefighters' who are carrying fire kits, rushing to 'put the fire out'. They are strong and barge through the workplace. We then see a man operating some high tech computer, he is in control. Throughout the scene, he is watching over what is going on and has a birds eye view of everything that the woman is doing. She is carrying a pen and a notebook and uses the pen to inject a poison into the man's drink. She does this to support the group of males she's working with; she's only a small part of the bigger picture. She's very subtle and sly and she plants a tracking device on the suspect gently which then leads back to the man who takes over control. She moves deviously unlike her male team mates who are powerful and strong. The males are either using props that require physical strain like suction pads and rope pulleys or high tech stuff like complicated mechanical tools.
I Robot:
At the start of the scene the female is operating the system of the robots. The male is operating a gun (weaponry) and is violent in his manner. He's careless and looks like he knows what he's doing; indicating he has more experience than her. She explains a systematic way of finding the robot, and he gets frustrated so he comes up with his own way of finding it, which is louder and aggressive. He has found the robot using his method, so he looks better than her. We are then presented with a squadron of policemen, carrying weapons- showing power and authority.
Indiana Jones:
At the start of the scene, the woman is carrying an umbrella and the man is carrying a suitcase; meaning she's carrying an accessory and he's there for business. He gives her a flower, shows he finds her attractive and is trying to charm her. He's carrying the important diary and he is very secretive; he doesn't give it to her to hold, only trusts the man with him. He grabs a pole and destroys the tomb, bashing through the ground to reveal the sewers. This shows he's manly and strong. She needs help to jump down, and once she's in, she lights a match, showing she's scared of the dark and needs some type of security to go through the sewers; light. He takes her match and makes it into a large torch by smothering a stick with flammable liquid- implying anything she can do, he can do better. It also shows him taking control. Once they actually find what they were looking for, he is the one who completed the puzzle, showing it's his adventure.
MISE-EN-SCENE
Spy Kids:
The female spy is wearing a shiny wig, she's wearing make up and dark glasses, she's undercover but she still looks very attractive. She is wearing a red coat, drawing attention to her beauty and highlighting her femininity. The man is wearing all black, he's dark, moody and mysterious. He has a lot of facial hair and has dark sunglasses. He's the typical undercover male spy. She's interchangeable, he stays the same. They're wearing expensive clothes, she has an attractive and flirty hairstyle. Shows that she's more decorated than him.
Man from Uncle:
There is a squadron of soldiers in uniform; wearing all black, bulletproof jackets, combats and boots. This shows they are strong, serious and dressed for a purpose. She's wearing white earrings, a bright orange dress, her hair is done up and her make up is quite heavy; she looks attractive and beautiful, almost effortlessly. Even after they drive through the lake, her hair is immaculate and she is wearing a bright lipstick, accentuating her lips. His face is covered in mud and dirt; shows he isn't afraid to get his face dirty to try and rescue the woman and he is an action hero who will do whatever it takes to complete his mission
Sicario:
Her hair is tidy and slicked back and her whole face is exposed. Her face is clean and she's wearing minimal make up, if any. This shows she is exposed, and open to the dangers of the new environment she's in. The man is wearing sunglasses, he's wearing all black and he's covered up, which contrasts to her vulnerability. She's stressing and sweating, her clothes are sticking to her, whereas the men are cool, calm and collected.

Explain how the character of the hero fits the Action Adventure genre
Indiana Jones- Raiders of the Lost Ark
Indiana Jones is the protagonist. The scene starts off with him leading the group of people; he's at the front. He doesn't show any fear unlike the rest of the group. He is the one detecting things and shows he is more knowledgable than the others. His sidekick tastes the poison, he doesn't, which shows a sense of superiority. The map is also in his possession which is a prop that symbolises he has the power and expertise and he's in control. We also see that he is skilled because he uses a whip as a weapon to fight someone who has a gun. He is single minded to complete his quest. He is able under pressure when he's faced with dangerous situations as shown by his reaction when he has tarantulas on him. His specialty weapon is a whip, which is unusual but shows that he is extremely skilled and different to his villain who has a gun. He also fits the genre because he helps rescue his sidekick which shows he is selfless and heroic. He's intelligent and is aware of his surroundings and takes his time. He gives orders which shows he has a plan and is in control. He is an outnumbered underdog who is faced with his enemy. He is involved in a chase scene but triumphantly gets away which is typical of the hero in this genre. He fits the stereotype of being a white, middle aged male who is somewhat attractive and physically fit.
